Per diems $80 p/day + GST?

Attached is the latest from the IRD, and per diems should now be $80/day WHT tax-free - since 1 July 2018.

However, what is confusing is the IRD note:

"To complete your GST returns, you'll need to keep all your receipts and invoices regardless of how much you receive in per diems. Also, per diems are paid exclusive of GST, so when you prepare your GST invoice, you will need to calculate GST on the per diems received."

This implies we should be adding GST, which is not standard practise.

Prevent Damage to SDI Outputs

Attached is the 2020 document that all passengers must comply with when taking any batteries of any sort onto a flight.  This 1 page condensed portion of the several page IATA document deals specifically with the usual camera & drone batteries that cinematographers will travel. Even though Air NZ writes it, it is a valuable page to carry with you if you have batteries to carry through any airport where they may interpret the IATA rules differently. ARRI have released a technical document outlining the correct procedure for connecting and removing BNC cables from the SDI ports on our, and other manufacturers' equipment. This may seem like a topic that should belong on the first day of film school, but as new, higher frequencies of the SDI standard are introduced such as 6G and 12G we are seeing higher-than-expected instances of failing SDI boards due to power spikes. This is not a problem that is confined to a model number or to ARRI cameras, all new generation SDI devices are susceptible to the same faults. This is all covered in the technical document linked below, but here is a short explanation:

In short, connect power cables before BNC cables, and then disconnect BNC cables before power cables.
